On the road-Orlando's Leu Gardens

  Happy Labor Day Weekend!
I am spending the first half of the weekend here in Orlando, met up with an old friend last night and today I drove over to beautiful Leu Gardens near the Winter Park area of Orlando.http://www.leugardens.org/
It is still pretty hot here in central Florida and I did not go at the best time of day for photos but still got a few that I like and that will give you an idea of how beautiful it is there. Hope to go back with my tripod in the morning once the weather cools down a bit.
The main building on the property pictured above looks out over a large lake. There are many acres of trails to wander around with different themed gardens. Various events are held here including movies.
How cool looking is this tree, not a fun one to try to climb that is for sure!

I managed to snag these photos of this nice butterfly who was nice enough to stay in one place for a few minutes!

This is a cute metal sculpture they have in the gardens.

This is a close up of a piece of bamboo.. I have always loved bamboo for some reason.

I highly recommend visiting Lew Gardens if you are ever in Orlando. A nice escape from the crowded theme parks! Admission is $7 but is free the first Monday of every month. They are open 9-5 every day.
