I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season! I got to spend time with friends and family in Orlando and West Palm Beach as well as Tampa. Yesterday before going to the New Years Party I attended I decided to photograph some flowers out on my balcony from a bouquet I purchased. I managed to take a few I like a lot and here they are!
I took all of these with my 100mm Macro lens using natural light only and my tripod. They were then of course artistically enhanced to my liking in Lightroom and Photoshop. I like to try different compositions with flowers as they are such a popular subject. They are certainly among my favorites, so beautiful, so magical in a way. I sprayed them with some water to help add interest.
I thought this next flower would be easier to photography but was not happy with most of the results. These two very similar shots were exceptions. I rarely turn flowers black and white-it just seems wrong somehow!
Yet I like the results here-very artsy!
This flower was placed in a water bottle on top of some black card board thus the black background! You would not know I took this in the middle of the day outside! I do think though that I will experiment soon with more macro using my light cube and studio lights at night soon. I love macro photography and hope you have enjoyed these images! I also hope that 2011 is a wonderful year for us all!
